Letters to Summer

Summers always seemed to have a golden tint to them—days that stretched on endlessly, spent in sunshine and filled with sweet nothings that left us full in the best kind of way.
Somewhere along the way, that magic began to fade. The reality of adulthood crept in, crowding our minds with too many thoughts to simply bask in the sun or float in cool water without care. Each year, I find myself clinging to the promise of summer, hoping to feel that same wonder, only to be met with the quiet ache of nostalgia. Did it ever really feel like that? Or is that just the power of memory?
Letters to Summer is, at its heart, a reflection—a love note to the summers of the past. If I could write to Summer and tell her what she’s meant to me, this would be it.
Each painting in this collection is inspired by a summer memory, with a short reflection beneath. Some are paired with poems, offering another layer to the moment.
I hope these pieces awaken a bit of your own summer nostalgia—and maybe, just maybe, bring back some of that old magic.
Summers of Old
and summers past-
I wish memories made you last
You slipped through my fingers without me even paying any mind.
What I would have done differently given the time
Maybe I would have lingered longer
savoured the sight
Maybe I would have done nothing more
to relish the night
I am not sure what
I would do given the chance to
go back
All I know is-
I left my childhood
in summers past
